Honoring Veterans

We make quilts for Veterans, award cases and host ceremonies for local combat veterans in the Northern and Western part of Horry County.

Award Cases

Since 2013, we have donated 1362 award cases to the Myrtle Beach Shore Birds Currently we have slowed production of the cases, as an alternative case is being awarded to Veterans. We will resume making these cases as the need arises.

Quilts and Envelopes

In addition to the cases, many of our members construct quilt tops to be used in our local ceremonies. The quilt is not complete without the quilting and binding. We have several members donating their time to long arm these quilts, as well as many who enjoy finishing it with the binding. There are always a few completed Quilts on hand, being ready for any requests for a single recipient ceremony. We supply a local volunteer with fabric and batting to make Award envelopes. Each veteran we honor will receive this envelope to keep the certificate and any important papers they receive.

The Stella Bag

The Stella Bag is the creation of our member, Stella. It comes in three sizes, large (the Original), small (Stella 2.0) and mini. Stella created this bag out of donated interior decorating fabric from a local design firm. All proceeds from the sale of these bags goes towards the purchase of fabric, batting and thread for quilts to honor veterans.
